French Toast Strata Pie

Ingredients

1 pound sausage country
2 each apple cored, thinly sliced
10 large eggs
4 cups milk
2/3 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon nutmeg ground
1 each bread, italian 1/2 inch sliced
1x maple syrup additional

Directions

In large skillet, cook sausage.

Remove from skillet, drain and crumble.

Add apple slices to skillet; cook, covered, over medium heat, about 3 minutes.

In medium bowl, beat eggs; add milk, 1/3 cup maple syrup and nutmeg.

Mix well.

In buttered 10 inch pie plate, arrange 3/4 of the bread slices.

Top with sausage, apples and remainig bread slices.

Pour milk mixture evenly over the top.

Cover, refrigerate overnight.

Bake, uncovered, at 350~F for 55-60 minutes or until set and golden.

Serve immediately with addtional maple syrup.

Refrigerate leftovers.

A Simplified Peking Duck

I have heard of the pecking duck for quite a long time but never dared to try making it. This afternoon I tried this simplified peking duck, while it was cooking, my son couldn't stop asking me when will it be ready, the smell filled the room. When the dish hit the table, my son and my husband were drooling. Awesome!
