After I mentioned the negative feedback on recent batches of Habitant soup my fiance (a big lover of Habitant soup from her childhood) she told me she got sick to her stomach after eating a can of soup she bought about a month ago.

She also noticed that it wasn't the same as she remembered.

We have received a number of more complaints about substandard quality of recent batches of Habitant soup.

personaly i have tried habitant soup and it was very unfortuanate that I had bought several cans thinking that the recipe was the same i got violantely ill as did the rest of the family needless to say I won't be purchasing it again .not unless they do some recipe revising

Hi Sean, I have recently bought several cans of Habitant soup but it is mostly the pea varieties. They were purchased in Toronto at the Real Canadian Super Store. I have had three cans so far and have not had any problems. Do you know which kind they have been having complaints about or the lot numbers so that we may check our cans? This is the only type of pea soup I will eat and have been eating it for over 50 years. But the 3 varieties of pea and occasionally the minestrone are all I buy in the Habitant line, the rest are Campbell's, packaged or homemade. Regards Maxie =^.,.^=

I just read the comments re Habitant soup. At 74 years of age, I remember eating Habitant soup as a child. It was almost as good as my mom's. However, recently, I was disgusted with the lack of quality and lack of taste. My husband, a frequent consumer of Habitant, has also had an upset stomach which can be traced back to the days he had Habitant soup, both the pea soup and the vegetable. We are very disappointed in the lack of quality in your current product and much to our dismay, will not be purchasing any more. Dianne Roy Cornwall, Ontario Canada

Your habitant peasoup with ham used to be really good now it is terrible watery and taste like chemical has been added will not be buying again

My wife and I have had the same reaction to your pea and vegetable soup. Won't be buying it again. Maybe your company should go back to the way it was made before. Some things should NOT change and your old recipe is one of them

we have been buying the Habitat Pea soup with ham for a long time. Tonight we had the soup and the taste was definitely off and it had a racid odour. We threw the soup out. It was nasty. The can was dated for Feb 24, 2024

I just opened a can of the Habitant pea soup and licked the spoon before warming it and it too tastes chemically and watered down. Nno wonder they are trying to get rid of them at a discount $1.64 in Brockville... I would hesitate to buy any more.

I bought a can of Habitant pea soup with ham for the first time in a few years, expecting the thick rich tasty stick-to-your-stomach kind of stuff I used to enjoy so much.
Uh-oh clue number one: a whole lot of water on top of the soup when I opened the can. Uh-oh clue number two: where did the peas go? Uh-oh clue number 3: tiny specks of chopped and formed "ham".
Tasted terrible and was way too watery.
Never again.
