This rosemary whole wheat loaf is mostly whole wheat flour with a small boost of bread flour for structure, plus bran for extra fiber and a nutty chew. Honey adds a subtle sweetness that plays off the piney, aromatic rosemary. The house smells incredible while it bakes.
It slices beautifully for sandwiches, toasts up with a satisfying crunch, and pairs with just about anything from soups to cheese boards.
Kitchen Tips
- Use dried rosemary and crush it slightly between your fingers before adding. This releases more of the essential oils.
- Add ingredients in the order your bread machine manual recommends. Some machines want wet first, others dry first.
- Let the loaf cool completely before slicing for the cleanest cuts. Cutting too early compresses the crumb.
