Two ingredients. That’s it. Two ingredients and you get a sorbet this good.
Golden Delicious apples simmer in cranberry juice until soft, then get pureed into a silky smooth base with a gorgeous pink hue.
The natural sweetness of the apples balances the tartness of the cranberry juice, so there’s no added sugar needed.
You can churn it in an ice cream maker or go the no-machine route: freeze it in a pan, break it up with chilled beaters, then pack it back in the freezer for a smooth, scoopable finish.
Fat-free, dairy-free, and Ornish diet-friendly, this is a frozen treat you can feel good about.
Kitchen Tips
- Let the cooked apple mixture cool completely to room temperature before blending; warm puree won’t freeze evenly
- If using the no-machine method, chill your bowl and beaters in the freezer ahead of time for the smoothest results
- Serve in chilled bowls with a sprig of fresh mint or a few whole cranberries for a pop of color
