Five ingredients, no cooking, no added sugar. Strawberries, cubed bananas, crushed pineapple, and frozen orange juice get mixed together and frozen in paper cups for an easy grab-and-go fruit treat kids go crazy for.

The frozen orange juice concentrate is the binder here. It adds intense citrus sweetness and enough liquid (along with the water) to freeze into a scoopable, sorbet-like texture rather than a solid icy block.

Serve these partially defrosted, about 10 to 15 minutes out of the freezer. Too frozen and they’re hard as rocks. Just right and they’re slushy, fruity, and refreshing.

Pro Tips

  • Use ripe bananas for the sweetest flavor. They also freeze smoother than underripe ones.
  • Small paper cups (the 5 oz kind) are the right size for individual servings. Peel the cup away to eat.
  • Stir the mixture well before portioning. The heavier fruit sinks, so you want an even distribution in each cup.
  • These keep well in the freezer for up to a month. Great for batch-making on the weekend.

Variations

  • Add a handful of blueberries or mango chunks for a tropical twist.
  • Use lemonade concentrate instead of orange juice for a tangier version.
  • Insert a popsicle stick into each cup before freezing for frozen fruit pops.
