Dairy-free soy milk shake blended with banana, fresh strawberries or blueberries, and a touch of maple syrup. Vegan, naturally sweet, and doubles as frozen popsicles.

10 minA quick vegan shake that gets its creaminess from a ripe banana and soy milk instead of dairy. Blended with fresh or frozen strawberries (or blueberries, your call), this comes together in under a minute and pours thick and smooth.
The banana is the real thickener here. A ripe one with plenty of brown spots on the skin brings enough natural sweetness that the maple syrup becomes truly optional. It also gives the shake a creamy body that soy milk alone can’t achieve. Frozen banana chunks make it even thicker, closer to soft-serve consistency.
The popsicle option is a bonus worth trying. Pour the blended shake straight into molds and freeze for a fruit-forward frozen treat that kids and adults both reach for. The banana keeps the popsicles creamy instead of icy, which is the usual problem with juice-based frozen pops.
Kitchen Tips
- Use a ripe banana. Green or barely yellow bananas won’t blend smooth and taste starchy. Wait for brown spots.
- Frozen berries work great here. They chill the shake without watering it down the way ice cubes do, and they’re available year-round.
- Blend on high for 30 seconds. Don’t stop too early. You want it completely smooth with no berry chunks or banana bits.
Variations
- Chocolate soy shake: Add 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder for a chocolate-banana combination.
- Tropical version: Swap berries for mango chunks and add a splash of coconut milk for a tropical twist.
