This is the kind of supper that shows up at church potlucks and disappears before anything else on the table.

Cubed pork and beef get layered with egg noodles and sharp cheddar, then blanketed in a creamy sauce made from mushroom and chicken soup.

Green bell pepper and pimentos add just enough color and crunch to break up all that melty, cheesy richness.

Bake it until the edges are bubbling and golden, then bring it straight to the table in the pan.

Kitchen Tips

  • Use the sharpest cheddar you can find for maximum flavor punch
  • Cook and drain the noodles just until al dente since they’ll soften more in the oven
  • This casserole reheats well the next day with a splash of milk to loosen the sauce
