What are French fried onions?

These crispy and golden onions are made by slicing onions thinly and frying them to perfection. The result is a flavor-packed and crunchy topping that can be used in a variety of ways. Trust us: once you try them, you won't be able to resist using them to top all of your favorite casseroles.

One popular use for French fried onions is as a topping for casseroles, such as in Classic Durkee's green bean casserole.

They add a delightful crunch and a pop of flavor to the dish. They can also be used as a topping for burgers, hot dogs, and salads.

French fried onions are easy to make at home with just a few simple ingredients. They can also be found pre-made in most grocery stores.

Can French fried onions be frozen?

French fried onions can indeed be frozen.

In fact, it's a great way to store them if you have leftovers or want to make them in advance for a recipe.

Just make sure to place them in an airtight container or freezer bag before popping them into the freezer.

They should stay fresh for up to 3 months. When you're ready to use them, simply reheat them in the oven or air fryer for a few minutes until they're crispy again.
