30These no-bake chocolate peanut butter squares come together in one bowl with just four ingredients: canned chocolate frosting, creamy peanut butter, quick oats, and chopped peanuts. No stove, no oven, no melting anything. Mix, press into a pan, cut, and refrigerate.
The frosting-peanut butter combination creates a fudgy, candy-like base that holds the oats and peanuts together. The oats absorb some of the moisture and add a chewy texture that keeps these from being pure sugar. Chopped peanuts throughout and peanut halves on top give every square a satisfying crunch.
Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan. A tight press means clean cuts and squares that hold their shape when you pick them up. Loose pressing leads to crumbly pieces.
Pro Tips
- Use creamy peanut butter, not chunky. Chunky won’t blend smoothly with the frosting and you’ll get uneven texture.
- Press the mixture with the back of a greased spoon or a piece of wax paper to prevent sticking and get an even surface.
- Cut into squares while still slightly soft, then refrigerate to firm up. Cutting after they’re fully chilled can crack the surface.
- Store in the fridge. These soften quickly at room temperature and can get messy.
