Apple and Orange Pork ChopsThis meal was very simple. I liked it a lot, but the rest of my family didn't like the rice. The orange was a little over powering. The pork chop was excellent.
Ingredients
DirectionsTrim excess fat from pork chops; season lightly with salt and pepper. Brown quickly in shortening. Pour from skillet all but 1 tablespoon of drippings. Saute onion in the drippings. Combine all remaining ingredients except pork chops with the onion; mix well, then pour into a greased 2 qt. shallow casserole dish. Arrange chops on this mixture. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F about 45 minutes. Makes 4 servings. On top of the great taste was the fact that this pie was one of the simplest to prepare. The only suggestion I have is to purchase a deep dish pie crust as the filling was more than enough for one regular pie crust but probably not quite enough for two. Because of the delicious combination of holiday pie flavors and ease of preparation, it is a great choice to take to those holiday events. I plan to. |
