These are magic bars with a peanut butter twist. A crushed peanut butter Oreo crust gets layered with chopped peanuts, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and flaked coconut, then the whole thing gets drenched in sweetened condensed milk and baked until golden. No mixing bowls needed. Just layer and go.

The peanut butter Oreo base is what sets these apart from standard seven-layer bars. The cookie crumbs bring both chocolate and peanut butter flavor to the foundation, so the peanut butter theme runs through every layer from bottom to top.

Sweetened condensed milk is the glue that holds everything together. As it bakes, it caramelizes around the peanuts and chocolate chips, binding the layers into a bar that’s chewy, crunchy, and gooey all at once. It also toasts the coconut on top to a deep golden brown.

Kitchen Tips

  • Press the crumb crust firmly and evenly. Loose crumbs won’t hold together when you cut the bars.
  • Layer evenly so every bar gets the same ratio of peanuts, chocolate, and coconut. Clumpy layers mean inconsistent bars.
  • Cool completely before cutting. These bars are soft and gooey when warm and will fall apart if you rush it.
  • Line the pan with parchment for easy removal. Lift the whole slab out and cut on a board for cleaner edges.

Variations

  • Butterscotch swap: Replace the chocolate chips with butterscotch chips for a sweeter, caramel-forward bar.
  • Pretzel layer: Add a layer of broken pretzel pieces for a salty crunch that balances the sweetness.

Directions

Combine crumbs and butter in small bowl.

Press onto bottom of greased 13×9 inch baking pan.

Layer peanuts, morsels, and coconut over crumb mixture.

Drizzle sweeten condenced milk evenly over top.

Bake in preheated 350℉ (180℃). oven for 20 to 25 min. or until coconut is golden brown.

Cool completely on wire rack.
