Popped popcorn, rolled oats, raisins, and dry roasted peanuts get tossed together and bound with warm honey that coats everything in sticky, golden sweetness.
Press the mixture firmly into a pan, chill for a couple of hours, and slice into sturdy bars that hold their shape and travel well.
Think of them as a homemade granola bar with a popcorn crunch.
Kitchen Tips
- Press the mixture down firmly with the back of a greased spatula or your hands wrapped in plastic wrap. The tighter you pack them, the better they hold together.
- Use plain popped popcorn with no butter or salt. Microwave popcorn will make these greasy.
- Store in the fridge. At room temperature the honey softens and the bars lose their shape.
