120 minThis apple-molasses bread is deeply flavored, the kind of quick bread that fills your house with the scent of warm spices and caramelized sugar.
Creamed butter and sugar get enriched with eggs, then you fold in a mixture of applesauce and dark molasses that keeps the crumb incredibly tender.
Raisins and chopped nuts add texture, while cinnamon and nutmeg bring cozy warmth to every bite.
Kitchen Tips
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and wet ingredients (applesauce mixture) to the creamed butter for the smoothest batter
- Don’t overmix once you add the flour or the bread will turn tough and dense
- Test doneness with a toothpick in the center; it should come out clean but not bone-dry
