15 minHanukkah with kids calls for edible crafts, and this candle salad is the kind of project that keeps little hands busy and bellies happy.
Banana halves stand upright in pineapple ring “holders," topped with orange gumdrops for the flame. A drizzle of mayo down the side mimics melting wax, and a green pepper strip loops through the pineapple as a handle.
Set them on a bed of lettuce and watch the kids light up (pun fully intended).
No cooking required. Just assembly, imagination, and a table full of giggles.
Kitchen Tips
- Cut a thin slice off the bottom of each banana half so it stands flat in the pineapple ring without toppling.
- Use a squeeze bottle or zip-lock bag with a tiny corner cut off for the mayo “wax” drizzle. It gives you much more control.
- Let the kids assemble their own. It’s half the fun and gets even picky eaters excited about fruit.
