2 hrsThis straightforward apple bread lets the fruit shine with just enough warm spice to enhance (not mask) the fresh apple flavor.
Two full cups of chopped apples throughout the batter ensure every slice is packed with fruit, while the cinnamon and cloves add cozy autumn warmth.
A light dusting of confectioner’s sugar after cooling transforms this humble loaf into something pretty enough to serve to guests.
Pro Tips
- Pare and chop apples into small, uniform pieces so they distribute evenly throughout the batter
- Let the bread cool completely in the pan before removing to prevent it from breaking apart
- Dust with confectioner’s sugar just before serving so it doesn’t absorb into the bread
- Wrap tightly and store at room temperature for up to 3 days (the flavor actually improves on day two)
