25 minWhen the after-school crowd is hungry and you need something on the table fast, these little cheese bread pizzas are your move. Three ingredients, no dough to roll, no sauce to simmer.
Sliced cheese bread gets a spread of tangy chili sauce and a pile of grated sharp cheddar, then hits the oven just long enough for the cheese to melt and bubble.
They’re crispy on the edges, gooey in the middle, and gone before the cookie sheet cools down.
Pro Tips
- Slice the bread about half an inch thick for the right balance of crispy and chewy. Too thin and they burn. Too thick and the center stays soft.
- Use sharp cheddar, not mild. The stronger flavor holds up against the chili sauce and gives each bite more punch.
- Let kids customize with their own toppings: sliced olives, diced peppers, or mini pepperoni on top of the cheese.
