Chicken tenders get stir-fried in a hot skillet, then joined by a packaged teriyaki stir-fry mix that brings both the vegetables and the sauce in one bag.
The crispy French fried onions go on at the very end, microwaved for a minute so they’re warm and crunchy.
That crunch on top of the saucy, glazed chicken and vegetables is what elevates this from “I opened a bag” to “I made dinner."
Kitchen Tips
- Don’t overcrowd the skillet. If your pan is too small, cook the chicken first, set it aside, then stir-fry the vegetables separately before combining.
- Hot pan, fast cooking. Keep the heat up so the vegetables stay crisp-tender instead of getting soggy and steamed.
- Serve over rice. Steamed jasmine or brown rice soaks up the teriyaki sauce and turns this into a complete meal.
