7 hrsFive ingredients. Five minutes of prep. Your slow cooker handles the rest.
Chicken pieces go into the crock pot, get doused with a mix of dry spaghetti sauce seasoning and white wine, and cook low and slow until the meat is falling-off-the-bone tender. Fresh tomatoes and mushrooms go in at the end on high heat for a quick finish.
This is the recipe you pull out on those days when you barely have time to open the fridge, let alone actually cook. Serve it over spaghetti, egg noodles, or rice.
Kitchen Tips
- Use a dry spaghetti sauce mix packet for the seasoning base. It’s got all the herbs and spices built in, so you don’t need to measure a thing.
- Add the tomatoes and mushrooms at the end on high heat. They only need 30 to 40 minutes. Adding them at the start will turn them to mush.
- Canned tomatoes and mushrooms work in a pinch, but fresh ones give you better texture and a brighter flavor in the finished dish.
