Canned tuna doesn’t have to mean cold sandwiches.

These pan-fried patties get their crunch from bread crumbs, their bite from chili sauce, and their freshness from chopped celery and onion.

Brown them in a hot skillet until they’re golden on both sides, then pile onto toasted English muffins for a 20-minute meal that punches way above its weight.

Pro Tips

  • Squeeze the tuna dry before mixing. Wet tuna falls apart in the pan.
  • Chill the patties 10 minutes in the fridge before frying for sturdier burgers that hold their shape.
  • Don’t press down with the spatula while cooking. Let the crust form on its own.
