Ghost cookies made by dipping butter cookies in white almond bark with black jelly bean eyes. A no-bake Halloween treat kids can help make in under 30 minutes.

These ghost cookies are a no-bake Halloween treat that takes about 25 minutes and just three ingredients. Dip store-bought butter cookies into melted vanilla almond bark, press on halved black jelly beans for spooky little eyes, and let them set on a wire rack. Done.

Kids love making these because there’s no dough, no oven, and no waiting for anything to rise. The almond bark melts smooth and sets up with a glossy white shell that looks like a little ghost floating on the cookie.

Kitchen Tips

  • Melt the almond bark slowly following the package directions. Overheating makes it thick and clumpy instead of smooth and dippable.
  • Dip two-thirds of each cookie so the bottom edge of the butter cookie peeks out, giving the ghost its “flowing” shape.
  • Press the jelly bean halves into the coating while it’s still wet. Once the bark sets, they won’t stick.
  • Set cookies on a wire rack over waxed paper to catch drips and keep the bottoms from pooling in excess coating.

Variations

  • Use mini chocolate chips instead of jelly beans for the eyes.
  • Drizzle melted dark chocolate over the white coating for a spiderweb effect.
  • Try Nutter Butters instead of butter cookies for a different ghost shape with a peanut butter surprise inside.
