Hot sandwiches stuffed with SPAM, melted cheese, and crisp vegetables get wrapped in foil and baked until steaming for easy lunch boxes, camping trips, or retro comfort food.

Hollow out crusty rolls, pack them with cubed SPAM, Monterey Jack, and a rainbow of veggies, then wrap them tight and bake until the cheese melts into every crevice.
The foil wrap steams everything together while keeping the outside crusty.
Kitchen Tips
- Press the filling firmly into the hollowed buns so they don’t fall apart when eating
- Whole wheat buns add extra fiber and nutty flavor
- Don’t skimp on the foil wrap; it’s what creates that steamy, melty interior
- Make ahead and refrigerate wrapped sandwiches; bake straight from the fridge (add 5 minutes)
- Perfect for lunch boxes; wrap in foil to keep warm for hours
Variations
- Swap SPAM for diced ham, turkey, or cooked chicken
- Use cheddar or pepper jack for different cheese flavors
- Add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy kick
