45 minThis is hash night done right. One skillet, 45 minutes, zero leftovers.
Ground beef gets browned and drained, then mixed with beef bouillon, chopped onion, frozen hash browns, and frozen mixed vegetables.
Everything steams together under a tight lid until the potatoes are tender and the veggies are cooked through.
Then comes the best part: a thick layer of shredded cheddar melted right on top.
It’s the kind of no-frills, stick-to-your-ribs dinner that kids and adults both reach for seconds on.
Kitchen Tips
- Drain the ground beef well after browning. Excess grease will make the hash soggy instead of hearty
- Keep the lid on tight during the steam phase. Peeking lets the steam escape and slows cooking
- Swap frozen green beans for mixed vegetables if that’s what you have on hand
- Season to taste with your favorite herbs and spices. Garlic powder, smoked paprika, or a dash of Worcestershire all work here
